Description

The 93mm Lift Chair spring mm lockdown recliner springs are a smaller spring that come into play when the recliner is closed and you hear that “Click” into locked position.

The 180mm and 160mm recliner spring is the most commonly used recliner spring and can be found on the inner side of the recliner action. These springs are known as the footrest release spring and are the main springs that operate the recliner. 

The 80mm Backrest Assist Spring is found on the lift chair and electric recliner action towards the rear of the action just below where the back rest attaches to the frame.

How To Measure Recliner Chair Springs

All recliner parts are universal. Makes of recliners, brand names or manufactures part numbers don’t mean much.

93mm Spring Measure the total length of the spring including the hooks. Please note the offset of the hooks. One hook is shorter then the other. Break down of the measurements are – hook = 13mm, coil = 42mm, hook = 38mm TOTAL = 93mm. Wire diameter is 2.1mm.

Choose “93mm – Lockdown” from the drop down menu above, add the quantity required then “Add To Cart”

112mm Spring Measure the total length of the spring including the hooks. The hooks are symmetrical.

Break down of the measurements; hook = 22mm, coil = 68mm, hook = 22mm TOTAL = 112mm. Wire diameter is 2.1mm.

Choose “112mm – Footrest Release” from the drop down menu above, add the quantity required then “Add To Cart”

117mm Spring Measure the total length of the spring including the hooks. Please note the offset of the hooks. One hook is shorter then the other. Break down of the measurements are – hook = 16mm, coil = 61mm, hook = 40mm TOTAL = 117mm. Wire diameter is 2.1mm.

Choose “117mm – Lockdown” from the drop down menu above, add the quantity required then “Add To Cart”

TIP: To remove and fit a recliner spring, have the recliner footrest in the open position. There is no load on the spring then!

160mm Spring Measure the total length of the spring including the hooks. Please note the offset of the hooks. One hook is shorter then the other. Break down of the measurements; hook = 26mm, coil = 89mm, hook = 45mm TOTAL = 160mm. Wire diameter is 2.1mm.

180mm Spring Measure the total length of the spring including the hooks. Please note the offset of the hooks. One hook is shorter then the other. Break down of the measurements; hook = 16mm, coil = 104mm, hook = 60mm TOTAL = 180mm. Wire thickness is 2.1mm

How To Install Recliner Springs

Removing & Fitting A Recliner Spring

  1. Gently turn the recliner over remember correct lifting methods.
  2. Open the recliner footrest.
  3. Locate the spring you are replacing. You may want to mark where it come from.
  4. Using a pair of pointy noise pliers, remove the recliner spring by un-attaching the hook ends from the recliner action.
  5. With the new recliner spring in hand, hook the one hook end in first then using the pliers pull and hook the other end into the the recliner action. You may need to use your figers to help locate it into the hole. Be careful, they can bite!
  6. Turn the recliner back over and test the the footrest now stays close in the closed position.
  7. Sit in the recliner and open the foot rest using the trigger release and check that it locks closed when returned to the closed position.
